2 out of 3 people don’t have a Will. Here’s why you should

At Grange Mortgage & Protection Services we are committed to providing our clients with the best possible service. Not only are we committed to helping you to build your wealth in your lifetime, but we are equally committed to safeguarding that same wealth for your children, grandchildren, or chosen beneficiaries after you are gone.

Do you have the right will in place?

It’s estimated that 2 out of 3 people don’t have a Will. Those that do have a Will, might have the wrong one in place. Without a Will, a large proportion of inheritance may be lost in settlements and taxation; and business owners might not pass shares on to their spouse/children correctly.

Putting your affairs in order

Irrespective of your age or the value of your estate, making a Will and putting your affairs in order is one of the most important tasks that you are likely to undertake. To ensure that that you have the most appropriate and up to date planning in place, which accurately reflects your circumstances, the Grange Group has recently formed its own facility to cater for this. Grange Will Writing Ltd which operates in association with one of the UK’s leading will writing services (Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation Ltd) is extremely well placed to make sure all your estate planning needs are catered for.

If you do not have a Will:

  • You cannot be sure that those you would wish to benefit will actually do so.
  • Your spouse/civil partner may not automatically inherit ALL of your estate.
  • ‘Common Law’ partners will not receive anything.
  • Minor children would be taken into care whilst Guardians are appointed.
  • There could be lengthy delays for your Beneficiaries and disputes.

Protection for your most valuable assets

There are a number of ways in which your home, savings and business is vulnerable to attack, but with a few simple strategies in place your wealth can be protected. Making a Will enables you to plan exactly what will happen to your estate if you’re not around. This ensures that those you would like to benefit actually do so, in accordance with your wishes, avoiding disputes between relatives.
